The door can be opened with a star-shaped key
found in "A large, lit cavern"
Hunt an eight armed skeleton, kill it for a belt of thorns. Next, hunt for a wounded warrior, and give the belt to the warrior, and receive a Cat's Eye. Next, hunt for an exorcising priest, and give him the Eye in exchange for a blessed cross. Finally, go back to the beginning of the area and give the cross to Darkon Stills for the star-shaped key.
